Time is moving very very quickly. In less than a week our stuff moves. And today we leave for the much anticipated long awaited trip to Hampi.
This is my beloved working space in the room that gets the most light in our house. already miss it.
But here is what I really want to show you.
Two pairs of pants. Exactly the same as these ones, and this is the story behind it.
In the last month or so, N has been spending a lot of time with her friends, and especially one friend M. Last week we had seven kids at home (and their moms) for a small but a rambunctious party, and yesterday we were invited to M’s house for a small farewell dinner.
N told me she wanted “matching” dresses for M and herself. Too much work at the last minute I told her, so we struck a deal–same pants for both of them. And that’s how we got this.
The only added touch is the lace on the pockets.
And my most favourite part?
The labels of course! N is delighted that she can recognise the letters.
I have been hazily thinking about this, but yesterday all of a sudden I found myself to be quite amazed at N’s social life here. Maybe all children are inherently social, but I somehow never remembering having so many friends at N’s age, and certainly not as attached to them as she is. Perhaps I never had the chance; my parents did not move when we were children. But maybe this has nothing to do with moving, as much as it has to do with with personality. N reminds me a lot of my sister, and her intense sociality and love for people is something that is quite wonderful for me to see. I know that she will miss Bangalore, and it is the first place she’ll remember as home.
But I also know, that she will love Delhi and make friends there. I do hope the ease with which she attaches herself to people never goes away.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend. We will too, I hope–in Hampi!
