So, I have been on a roll ever since I started doing the one-hour-of-sewing-everyday thing two weeks ago (thanks to kcw), and made a couple of things in quick succession after that. Here they are-
These have been already worn a fair bit this week but Ms. N has been somewhat unwilling to model for me, and I haven’t been able push for it because well…it is too hot to do anything. Least of all to get up and tell your child to pose or any such sort of thing which requires any bit of cajoling. But, anyway, here is few photos from yesterday and today.
The pants are my favourite; they are the same sailboat pants that I made during the kcw challenge. The more I make them the more I adore this pattern, and after having made three this fourth one came together pretty quickly.
The fabric is a really light ikat look alike. N is not very keen on it, but I really like it especially for school.
The top appropriately titled “round neckline blouse” comes from this book. I did the same thing as for the “balloon silhoutte blouse” which is line the yoke, and it fits pretty well.Perhaps not the best choice of fabric because it does not have as much drape as I would like, but N likes the way it stands up. Plus, she can also wear this to school. And I love the faded look and lovely print. Oh and can you see that little bit of topstitching?Pretty subtle right? I was thinking of doing it in red, but it worked out better in grey because I have a few wonky lines there.
So there. I am done with kcw for now. It has been totally fabulous, and if you haven’t yet done so please check out the lovely stuff that people have made on their blog. Very lovely and very inspiring.
