Last year N got a new cousin–a baby boy. N and I got to see him this summer when we visited Pune, and she was very excited to see how tiny he was (I mean compared to her!). She is very much into teeny tiny things. And as is turns out he was about to turn one.
So with my sister who was visiting Delhi we sent him this as birthday gift. A small quilt–about 36″X42″. Very simple, just squares of 6.5″X6.5″ put together with a border. I had planned to quilt it by hand, but with not enough time I ended up tying it. Here is a picture of N peeping over it. And can you see the back here? Its the print with small blue and ochre flowers. It’s all prints and I wasn’t sure how it would work. But I don’t subscribe to this whole recent blue for boy pink for girl thought, and I know enough baby boys who like colourful things. So here it is. I am quite happy with the result. It’s warm and cosy, and good for the latest addition to our family I think.
