The thing about sewing from Japanese books is that once you get a hang of a particular pattern, things can go pretty quickly and you can have something ready in one afternoon. That for me is really super fast. Either that or the instructions and pictures just don’t make sense and I am tearing my hair out.
So, here is one of the more successful attempts.A little tunic/top from here. For my model who is on the thinner side, I made it in size 100cms with extended length. I have had the fabric forever (since my NY days), and it required a bit of fiddling to fit in a top in half yard, but I am pretty pleased with the results. The binding comes from the same blue shirt of M’s that produced a dress a few days ago, and I think we are now about done with this shirt.
I am still working on something from here, and which is causing some serious hair-pulling-out. It’s taking me forever to understand the instructions, but hopefully my committing to show it will make me just finish it, rather than keep it languishing on the “half finished projects” shelf.
So be back in a few days. Until then…
