I can certainly say that all this mess in the house (yes, the painting and renovation has now entered its third week!) is definitely making me sew a lot more. I made this last week, and then forgot to post about it.A relatively quick skirt to go with all those tops that I made this month. Well, probably not all, but a few of the new ones and many of the ones that I made in the last few months. The pattern is from here, and like with all the other Oliver+S patterns I have tried out this one sews up beautifully. My favourite part here? Definitely the box pleats; I like the kind of structure it gives to the skirt. This one is in size 3T; I extended the hem by 1.5″ with plans of folding it up but then ended up adding a hem facing at the last minute. It might be a tad long, but that only means that it’ll last a bit longer.I think the real beauty here is in the fabric, which my photos do no justice to. Oh, the khadi is just divine. It crumples up beautifully, giving at once this “I-live-in-this” look, and yet there is such elegance in it. Reminds me of my own school uniform skirts. N loves it too (though you can’t tell by that face, can you? :-), and I am happy to note that this one is getting plenty of wear.So. That’s all from me today. Hope you enjoy the day too.
