I’ve been eyeing this pattern for quite a while, mostly because of the long sleeves which I love. But for the last six months at least it was unthinkable. Now with the weather entering the zone of tolerable, I think this will get some wear.
The pattern comes from this book, and was easy enough to follow. You might be thinking, what’s with the blue (un-matching) facing? Well, I would like to say that, that’s the part of the charm. But really it is how I lure my five year old into wearing what I want her to wear! So. The facing in part because given the current obsession with blue, I needed to put it in somewhere. But other than that, I just feel that with a facing the dress sits better on her. Does this make logical sense?
My favourite part though is the trim. It is the border of my old kurta and I wasn’t thinking of it until a friend pointed out how good it would look. Turns out, there couldn’t have been a better choice. I think it adds just that necessary touch of the festive and goes perfectly well with the fabric.
Meanwhile the other bit of news is that the painting is done as of today! Finally. We don’t live in a huge house, but it took five weeks! Now is the fun part of clearing up. 🙂 I am planning some giveaways so hope you’ll visit soon!
