This morning, I was pleasantly surprised when I suddenly found these three flowers blooming in our balcony garden. Really at that point there is one solitary lily, one rose and one jasmine bud and I had no idea that these plants were planning to bloom. N told me that the lily had already made its appearance the day before (just shows how observant I am) and she was very very excited to see all three of them at the same time. So was I, given how low I sit on the green-thumb scale.
It’s has been a very frustrating morning sewing wise, so other than spewing invectives I don’t have much have to say on that front. What I do have to say is that I could take a small lesson from N in terms of an attitude towards one’s “work” (as she calls it). She spent most of the morning making these:
It’s a little hard to figure out first what is going on, but then I was told that it’s a remember-game, wherein each of her classmates is going to look at the pictures stuck on the piece of paper and then walk to the end of the room and choose exactly the same picture from a box lying at the other end of the room. The “remember” part comes from remembering that picture while walking to the other end of the room, and I think not getting distracted.
I know I am biased, but still, I was quite impressed. She laboured all morning over it, re-did several pictures till she got them right and can’t wait to take them to school tomorrow.
For me, its a lesson in patience, which I am sorely lacking in, and also this gung-ho approach in doing things. It was also amusing to me how much this game applies to real life situations–how many times do we enter one room knowing what we want and then forgetting how and why we got there is the first place!
That’s all from me today my friends. I am out of town for the next three days, so that is all about KCW from me this time I think.
I hope you have good rest of the week with sewing and other stuff!
